National player Matthias Ginter can well imagine extending to Borussia Mönchengladbach in the long term. “I do believe that the chances are not bad that I will stay,” says Ginter in an interview with the Rheinische Post: “It fits a lot, a few detailed questions are still pending, but they are of secondary importance.” Ginter’s contract on the Lower Rhine runs until summer 2022.
Ginter points out that “because of the entire situation with regard to Corona and the associated imponderables, it will probably drag on a little” until there is something concrete about a possible contract extension.
The 27-year-old central defender is one of the absolute top performers, Ginter played the last 65 competitive games of the foals all over 90 minutes. In the current Bundesliga season, Ginter has two goals and one assist.
