Lionel Messi has been wearing the FC Barcelona shirt for more than 20 years. Now he could change for the first time in the summer. Buddy Luis Suarez has some advice.
Atletico Madrid striker Luis Suarez has commented on the speculation about his friend and ex-teammate Lionel Messi from FC Barcelona.
“I can’t imagine him without Barca,” the 34-year-old said in an interview with TV3: “As a fan of the club and as his friend, I would advise him not to leave.”
If it goes to Suarez, it might be best for Messi to “end his career in three, four, five or six years at Barca. Where he was happiest.”
Messi’s contract with the Catalans runs until the end of June, after which he can leave Blaugrana for free. Most recently, the 33-year-old has been associated with a move to Manchester City, with his former sponsor Pep Guardiola, and PSG.
FC Barcelona: Messi future still open – attracts PSG?
PSG star Neymar is also supposed to make a move to PSG palatable to his former teammate and apparently forego his shirt number 10.
In Barcelona they still hope that Messi will stay. Last summer everything already indicated a change. After harsh criticism of ex-president Josep Maria Bartomeu, ‘La Pulga’ decided to stay.
