Austria trainer Peter Stöger tested positive for Corona – conversation with Cologne only virtual

The personal meeting between Austria coach Peter Stöger and 1. FC Köln sports director Horst Heldt did not take place: The Austrian fell ill with the corona virus.

The planned meeting between Cologne’s sports director Horst Heldt and Peter Stöger could not take place. The 55-year-old tested positive for the corona virus.

“I tested positive for the coronavirus on Friday morning with a rapid test. Now a PCR test is being carried out,” said Stöger zum Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger. “I’m fine, I have no symptoms, but of course Horst can’t come now.”

The two wanted to exchange ideas in Vienna about a return to 1. FC Köln – Stöger is one of the coach candidates for the coming season.

“I like to listen to all of this. Of course, the conditions have to be right – even in the event of a relegation,” explains Stöger, who will now exchange ideas with Heldt virtually.
