Third division club Dynamo Dresden found their way back to success with coach Alexander Schmidt’s debut. The Saxons defeated MSV Duisburg after four games without a win or goal 1-0 (0-0). Christoph Daferner (77th) redeemed the team of Schmidt, who had initially been committed until the end of the season, after 435 minutes without a goal.
Three days after Markus Kauczinski’s leave of absence, Dynamo climbed to third with 62 points. The Dresdeners have also played one game less than Hansa Rostock (65) and FC Ingolstadt (63), who currently occupy the direct promotion places.
MSV Duisburg, which had previously been unbeaten for six games, remains in 13th place with 42 points.
