Relegation is getting closer and closer for the Würzburger Kickers in the 2nd Bundesliga. The Franks conceded their highest defeat of the season in a 0: 4 (0: 3) at FC St. Pauli on matchday 29 and are still six points behind VfL Osnabrück on the relegation place in one more game.
With their fourth win in a row, St. Pauli improved to sixth place, at least temporarily.
“Today we missed everything that a football game needs,” said Würzburg coach Ralf Santelli Sky: “I am extremely disappointed.” Captain Christian Strohdiek spoke of the “worst game of the season”.
In a one-sided game, the guests never found a remedy against the formally strong Hamburgers. Omar Marmoush (4th) scored with a deflected shot for an early lead.
Rico Benatelli (18th) and Leart Paqarada (20th) increased before the break. Kyereh Daniel-Kofi (50th) put the finishing touches.
